The Whole Hog
Purchase Tickets

The Whole Hog BBQ is a FUNdraiser benefiting the Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso that symbolizes our total “whole hog” commitment to improving the lives of individuals with special needs in the El Paso community. You won’t want to miss the third annual Whole Hog Barbecue! Of course there will be a whole hog, but there will also be something for everyone – even vegetarians. We will be gathering at Keepa’s Park for some of the best barbecue you will eat, great country music, and lots of fun. Wear your cowboy boots and jeans and come ready to eat and dance.

Please help spread the word about this event benefiting a worthy cause! We look forward to seeing you on April 27th and joining us in showing your support for the Down Syndrome Coalition and our community!

Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso

The goal of the Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso is to create programs that help individuals with Down syndrome develop independence and assist their families in creating a community of inclusion. In addition to our healthcare and education-related programs, we started a tumbling class and book club.

Weekly Tumbling Class
Weekly Tumbling Class

We host a weekly tumbling class for children with Down syndrome, ages 5 to 10, to work on strength and balance. Developmentally appropriate and designed for children with disabilities, the gymnastics class is held at 9 a.m. on Saturdays at Every Little Blessing. Classes run from January to May and August to December. We are always looking for more volunteers to allow us to serve more children.

Weekly Book Club
Weekly Book Club

Teens and adults with Down syndrome are invited to join our book club, an affiliate of the Next Chapter Book Club non-profit. All are invited to participate, regardless of reading level. Trained facilitators guide the club as members read and discuss age appropriate material. Interested in starting a club in your neighborhood? We’re looking for volunteers to start clubs throughout El Paso. The hour-long weekly sessions can be setup to fit the schedule of the volunteers and members.
